Availability of affordable motor fuel shapes our nations economy. Transportation relies heavily on this resource. The use of gasoline in Florida has continued to climb as more individuals travel more. According to the Energy Information Administration, the number of gasoline stations in Florida makes up over five percent of the national total.
The Florida Department of Revenue tracks the sales of and tax revenues from motor fuels. State, Federal and additional local option fuel taxes are primary sources of funding for transportation expenditures, including roadway improvements.
This indicator shows the weekly price for regular grade gasoline and the price includes taxes. This indicator is updated weekly with lag of around one week. The data source is the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
