According to U.S. Census Projections, as of July 1, 2014 Florida's population is ranked third in the United States, following California and Texas. The population continues to grow at a rate that exceeds the projected national average..

 

Florida’s quality of life continues to draw new residents and tourists. This growth can be both beneficial and detrimental to the economy, the environment, and the transportation system. Therefore, efforts will have to be made to meet the needs of a growing population.


This indicator shows the annual percent change in the population. The average annual percent change in Florida’s population has been approximately 2% since 1990. The data for this indicator are sourced from the Florida Statistical Absract which is prodiced by the Bureau of Economic & Business Research (BEBR), University of Florida.
